Does your business offer tours? Take a look at this

· Martin Thorborg

Family photos as marketing was a little idea I saw at Jelly Belly in 2011. A factory visit could become a photo the family took home and shared with others.

The video and the discussion of the website and Facebook date from 2011.

Family photos as marketing after the visit

Families could have their photo taken in front of a blue screen. Jelly Belly’s logo appeared in the finished photo, giving them a souvenir of the visit that also showed the company.

Afterwards, you received a QR code that let you download the photo online. That gave the factory a reason to bring the family back to its website after the visit.

A memory that’s easy to share

So when I got home, I’d have a digital family photo ready to put on Facebook. That was clever because you got something you wanted to keep and show others. Also read E-pusher about my experiences of online marketing.

I also imagined that visiting the website could offer an opportunity to order more products. That was my thought about the idea, not a result I’d measured at Jelly Belly.

If your business welcomes visitors, it’s worth considering what they can take away from the experience and whether it’s easy for them to share it.

The original photo page no longer exists. Best wishes, Martin

  1. Endelig..

  3. Stensikkert en ide LEGOland også kunne bruge. Mon Billund-teamet ser Thorborgs Talkshow? Ellers burde de gøre det. Super god ide i hvert fald. 🙂
