A management talk in Aarhus

· Martin Thorborg

My management talk in Aarhus in 2019 was about the experiences that helped me move from a frustrating management role to a better working life. Here’s the historical invitation to the talk on 25 November 2019.

I’m coming to Aarhus on 25 November to talk about how I became a good manager. Because it actually isn’t that difficult if you know what to do 🙂 But it’s taken time and given me an enormous number of challenges over the years. So come and hear my tips and tricks to get a better life as a manager and happy, productive and motivated employees 🙂 Buy a ticket here:

The video is from October 2019 and was an invitation to a management talk in Aarhus on 25 November that year. The event and the information about Dinero are historical.

My first years as a boss were frustrating

When I hired my first employees around 25 years earlier, it was hugely frustrating.

I dealt with people who arrived late, left early or didn’t get anything done all day. People who disliked each other, took money from the till or stole from each other.

There were lots of challenges I had to learn to handle. And that took time.

I gradually became a better manager

Over the years, I got better at handling the different situations. I also discovered that, in my experience, there were relatively few things you needed to do as a boss to make work function much better.

In the video, I’m the CEO of Dinero with around forty employees, part of the Visma group, which then had around ten thousand employees.

I explain that our employees were the most motivated and happiest to be there, while the company was also growing very fast.

Management talk in Aarhus 2019: Experience from my management role

That was the background to my talk in Aarhus on 25 November 2019.

I wanted to pass on my experience from the previous 25 years. To talk about the challenges I’d faced and the things I’d gradually learnt about creating happy, productive and motivated employees.

The invitation was about finding inspiration for a better life as a manager and learning from experience that had taken me many years to gather.
