Talks via Skype worked well for me in 2011. I discuss the format with a large screen and questions from the audience, and share the feedback I received from participants.

Talks via Skype with audience questions

I have started giving quite a few talks via Skype. It works really well, and people respond very positively. The feedback I receive is that I connect with people just as powerfully as if I were in the room. I typically talk for around an hour and then leave plenty of time for audience questions. It takes place via Skype and a large screen, and I see the audience through the camera usually built into the organiser’s laptop. It is a good way to give talks because I save a lot of time and can therefore offer a more competitive price.
