MORE THAN A STORY ABOUT BUSINESS

There has to be a life in it, too.

I started out in a small rowing boat on Bagsværd Lake. Since then, I’ve built Jubii and Dinero and bought three hotels in Gudhjem. I’ve also sat at my father’s deathbed, lost a marriage, lost money and welcomed children into my life. And I’ve spent years figuring out what I actually wanted to do with freedom and money.

This is the story of a boy who was determined to get rich, but who wasn’t a genius, had no special talent and was handed nothing. I kept going, and so can you.

You don’t have to be an entrepreneur, and you don’t have to be successful yet. If I could get from where I started to where I am today, you can go further than you think. I hope you’ll be entertained, have a few good laughs and feel inspired to go after an even more exciting life.

A book you can read and listen to.

HELP WITH THE BOOK APP

Things you might want to know.

The features, the sample and how I use AI.

How do I access my book?

Use the email address from your order at My book. After confirmed payment, request a one-time code valid for ten minutes. Your personal greeting uses the first name from checkout.

How do I change devices?

Access allows two browser profiles at a time. Sign in with a fresh email code on a third device and choose a previous device to sign out. Private browsing and cleared cookies require a fresh code.

Can I download the purchased book?

Paid access is online in the book app. It does not include downloadable book or audio files. The free test versions may have different offline features.

What can I try here?

You can try chapter 2, “My parents”, with text, photos and audio. The chapter overview describes the whole book, but the sample does not give access to the complete book. The sample text and audio are in Danish.

Is the sample free?

Yes. You can try the chapter without paying or entering payment details. Digital access costs DKK 297 including VAT as a one-time purchase. The sample is free.

How do I start the audio and my greeting?

Enter your name on the start page and continue to the book. Wait until your greeting is ready, then press “Play your greeting” or the play button. The greeting comes before the chapter. Your phone may require you to tap before audio can start.

What do Read, Listen and Read & listen do?

“Read” shows the text. “Listen” shows the player. “Read & listen” shows the text while the audio plays and lets it follow the narration. You can stop following the audio if you want to read somewhere else.

Can I skip forwards and backwards?

Yes. Tap or drag the timeline to choose a point in the chapter. The buttons beside play move backwards or forwards by 15 seconds.

Can I change the speed or set a sleep timer?

Yes. Use the speed control beside the player to change the playback speed. The sleep timer stops playback after your chosen time or at the end of the chapter.

Does the app remember where I got to?

The app saves your position in the browser you’re using. Private browsing, clearing browser data or changing devices may mean you need to find your place again. The sample does not promise syncing between your phone and computer.

Can I change the text size and turn pages?

Press “Aa” to change the text size. Press “Pages” to read one page at a time, then use the next and previous page buttons. Turn it off to scroll again.

What does the Links button do?

It turns on relevant links in the text so you can learn more about the places, people and businesses mentioned. External websites may change. Please let me know if a link doesn’t work.

Can I listen without an internet connection?

The free test app has a “Save offline” option at the top. Purchased access is used online. Open the chapter online first and wait for your greeting to be ready. Save the content and wait for the app to confirm it has finished. Your browser needs to support the feature and have enough storage. Saved content can be removed if you clear browser data or your phone runs low on space.

How do I add an icon to my phone?

On iPhone, open the page in Safari, tap Share and choose “Add to Home Screen”. On Android, open it in Chrome and look for “Install app” or “Add to Home screen” in the menu. The wording can vary. You can also use the app directly in your browser.

Why can’t I hear anything?

Check your phone’s media volume and whether audio is being sent to headphones or a Bluetooth device. Press play yourself. If your greeting is still being generated, wait until it’s ready. Reload the page if the button doesn’t respond, and try Safari or Chrome outside private browsing.

Why is my name pronounced incorrectly, or why is my greeting missing?

The greeting is generated with AI, which can mispronounce names. It may also be delayed or fail. First check that your name is entered correctly and whether the page says your greeting is ready. A greeting error doesn’t mean the chapter itself is unavailable.

Is that really your voice?

The narration is generated with ElevenLabs using a clone of my own voice. It’s an AI-generated reading, rather than a recording of me sitting down and reading every sentence aloud. The personal greeting is made in the same way.

Did AI write the book?

The stories, experiences and opinions are mine. I use AI to help write, structure and edit the text. In the manuscript, I also describe using ChatGPT to help write and revise, and Claude to read along and challenge the text. AI is part of the work on the book.

Did you use AI for the cover and the app, too?

Yes. I’ve used AI to develop the cover and to build and improve the book app, including the reading experience, audio player and personal welcome.

Could the text or AI narration contain mistakes?

Yes. The book is still being edited. Names, pauses and emphasis can sound wrong, and the text may contain revisions that are newer than the audio. Timing markers help you follow along, but they don’t guarantee perfect sentence-by-sentence alignment.

What happens to the name I enter?

Your name is used to create and store your personal welcome on this website. The text containing your name is sent to ElevenLabs to generate the audio. Please don’t enter sensitive information in the name field. Read the website’s privacy policy (Danish).

Can I share the sample?

Yes, you’re welcome to share the link to this page. The sample is freely accessible. That does not give permission to copy or republish the book or audio files elsewhere.

Will the book be available in other languages?

Danish comes first. This website and the app’s menus are available in English, but the book text and audio have not been translated into English. Further book languages will be announced when they’re ready.

Where can I buy the book or find your other books?

See digital access at the top of this page. The price is DKK 297 including VAT. Find my other books in the shop or browse the book overview. Those pages are in Danish.

How can I send feedback?

Email martin@thorborg.dk. Please include your phone and browser, what you pressed and what happened. For an audio issue, the chapter and playback time are helpful.

Come into the story.
