Help with the book app

Help with opening, reading and listening to the book in Danish and English.

Open your book · Privacy policy

How do I open the book I bought?

Open thorborg.dk/min-bog/ using the email address from your purchase or complimentary access. Select Send code, then enter the emailed code in the same browser. The code is valid for 10 minutes and can only be used once. Digital access is available now.

Can I use the book on more than one device?

You can have access on up to two devices or browser profiles at a time. Sign in on the second device with your purchase email and a new code. If both slots are in use, choose an earlier device to sign out. My devices is in the three-dot menu. A different browser or private browsing may count as another device.

Where do I find the audiobook?

Tap the bottom of the player if the bottom menu is hidden. Choose Listen for audio or Sync to follow the text while listening, then press Play. Select Dansk or English at the top left; both the text and audiobook follow your language choice.

How do I switch between Listen, Sync, Read and Pictures?

Use the buttons at the bottom. Listen shows the audio player, Sync combines text and audio in your chosen language, Read gives the text more room, and Pictures opens the chapter gallery.

How do I turn the page?

Pages are the default unless you previously chose another reading view. Tap or click near the right edge of the text for the next page and near the left edge for the previous page. On a phone you can also swipe sideways; on a computer you can use the arrow keys. Reopen the short page-turning guide from Help in the player.

Why does the bottom menu disappear when I read?

Read hides the bottom menu to leave more space for text. Tap the bottom of the screen to reveal the reading controls and the Listen, Sync, Read and Pictures buttons. Tap the text or the reading-menu arrow to hide the controls again.

How do I choose a chapter?

Select the list icon at the top right and choose a chapter. The reading menu, opened by tapping the bottom of the screen, also has a chapter icon. You do not need to turn through every page to change chapters.

How do I change text size and reading view?

Tap the bottom to open the reading menu. Aa changes text size. The reading-view icon switches between individual pages and one continuous scrolling text. Page counts depend on your screen and chosen text size.

How do I search the book?

Read and Sync have a magnifying-glass button at the top. Enter at least two characters; results appear as you type. Select a result to open that passage. In Sync, then select Play from here to listen from the matching paragraph. Search does not start audio automatically.

How does Sync follow the audio?

Choose Sync and start playback. The current paragraph is highlighted and followed using the book’s timing cues. After searching for a passage, use Play from here to start at that particular paragraph. Sync is available in both Danish and English.

How do I seek, and can I undo it?

Tap or drag the timeline to choose a position in the chapter. The buttons marked 15 skip back or forward by 15 seconds. After seeking with the slider, Undo change lets you return to the position before the jump.

What does the time remaining in the book mean?

It shows the remaining listening time for the whole book from your current position, for example 8 hr 41 min. It accounts for the selected playback speed. The times below the chapter slider show your position within the current chapter and its duration.

How do I change speed or set a sleep timer?

Select the speed, such as 1×, to choose another playback speed. The moon icon opens the sleep timer. Choose a duration or End of chapter to stop playback when the chapter finishes.

How do I choose speakers, AirPlay or headphones?

Select the audio-output icon at the top, to the left of the chapter chooser. If supported, your browser opens its output chooser. Otherwise, the player explains how to use your device’s sound controls. On iPhone you can also choose AirPlay in Control Centre; on Mac use Control Centre, Sound. Connect Bluetooth devices to your phone or computer first.

Can I control playback from the lock screen?

The player uses your device’s media controls for play and pause when the browser provides them. Your phone also manages interruptions from Siri and calls. If playback does not resume, open the player, check the audio output, and press Play again. If it remains stuck, tell me the chapter, timestamp, phone and browser.

How do I see the pictures and captions?

Pictures is on the right of the bottom menu. It shows the selected chapter’s pictures and captions. Select a picture to enlarge it. Audio can continue while you view pictures. They appear in the gallery rather than inside the reading text.

How do I show or hide links?

Tap the bottom in Read to open the reading menu, then select the chain icon. It shows or hides the book’s links to further information. Headings and subheadings do not contain links.

Can I switch between Danish and English?

Use Dansk and English at the top left. Text and audio switch to the corresponding passage in the same chapter. Listen, Sync or Read mode is preserved. Because the recordings have different timing, the timestamp may change. If your browser requires it, press Play again to continue. On your first visit the browser language is used unless the link specifies a language. Your choice is remembered.

Does the book remember my reading and listening position?

The purchased book saves reading and listening positions on your device and synchronises them with your access while online. Sign in with the same purchase email on another device. Samples and public tests save positions locally in each browser. Private browsing or clearing browser data may remove local preferences and require another sign-in.

Can I use the purchased book offline?

Yes. Open the book while connected to the internet, tap the three dots at the top and choose "Save offline". Download the Danish or English edition you want to use and wait until the download has finished. You can then read and listen without an internet connection on the same device. Wi-Fi is recommended because the audio takes up considerable space. Adding a Home Screen icon does not download the book by itself. Your browser or phone may clear stored data, so check that the book is ready for offline use before you travel.

How do I add an icon on my iPhone?

Open the book’s address in your regular browser. In Safari, select Share (or the page menu, then Share) and Add to Home Screen. In Chrome, select Share beside the address bar, then Add to Home Screen. Enable Open as Web App if offered, then Add. If the option is missing, look further down the share sheet or under Edit Actions. Menu placement varies by iOS version. Instructions are also in the player’s three-dot menu.

How do I add an icon on Android?

In Chrome, open the book’s address, select the three-dot browser menu, then Install app or Add to Home screen. In Samsung Internet, open the browser menu, select Add page to, then Home screen. Wording varies by browser version. You can also open Add to Home Screen in the player’s three-dot menu for instructions.

How does the personal greeting work?

If you received the book as a gift, the giver’s optional personal message appears only on the certificate and is not read aloud. The player contains Martin’s fixed greeting as text and audio in Danish, personalised with the giver’s and recipient’s first names. The giver cannot edit this greeting. See the certificate, steps and audio example.

The purchased book uses the first name from your purchase or complimentary access for a personal welcome. The Danish greeting can also play in my cloned voice before the prologue. If greeting audio is pending or unavailable, you can still read and listen to the book itself. Contact me if your first name is wrong.

Why is the pronunciation occasionally strange?

Because my voice is cloned and I am not reading the text aloud myself, there can occasionally be small errors.

I have put a lot of resources into removing them, but it is not possible in every case.

What if sign-in fails or my code does not arrive?

Request and enter the code in the same browser. If you arrived from Mail, Facebook or another app’s embedded browser, open the book’s address in regular Chrome or Safari and request a new code there. Use the latest email, check spam and your connection. For Cookie check failed or Load failed, reload the sign-in page and try again. Contact me if it continues. Never send your sign-in code.

What information is used for my greeting?

Your first name is used in the welcome. To create greeting audio, the greeting text including your first name is processed by ElevenLabs, which provides the cloned voice. Your email is used for purchasing and access; it is not something you enter in the book text. Also see the privacy policy on thorborg.dk.

How do I get more help or report a problem?

Write to martin@thorborg.dk. Include your phone or computer, browser, whether you open the book from an icon, and the affected chapter and timestamp. A screenshot helps. Do not send sign-in codes, payment-card details or private access links.

What are usage statistics, and can I disable them?

The three-dot menu → Usage statistics contains an optional setting that is off by default. If enabled, chapter, mode, active time, playback errors and clicks to the sales page are measured to improve the player. No names or search terms are sent, and statistics data is kept for up to 90 days. Clear the checkbox to stop new measurements. Access and saved positions still work. The normal saved positions can contribute to an aggregate view of progress through the book; see the privacy policy.
